“Love film, the lack of immediacy keeps me locked into the moment. Every film stock is it's own animal and working within it's framework pushes me to be more creative to break it's limitations. I also started bulk rolling film, dev/scan at home. The hands on approach is definitely a labor of love. I do appreciate learning on digital for compositional techniques like layering and timing.”

“I've been taking pictures for about 5 years. My art school teacher told me copywriters can't draw, and shoot pictures instead. I took his advice, although I can draw also lol. “

“My friends and the Oakland Creative Community keep me inspired. Their passion and drive to expressive themselves as individuals paves new ways of seeing, tasting and listening. I love the boldness, honesty and how everyone's so loyal to the soil. My wife inspires me, she's so creative and makes me laugh daily, keeping me feeling young. This definitely drives my creative output, approaching the world like big ole kid.”

“El-P from Definitive Jux, Company Flow, RTJ is so good. Just a great producer and lyricist that keeps evolving. Photography wise, Alex Webb continues to impress me with his compositional layer, timing and color work.”

“Editing and selecting work while listening to jazz is my favorite. Thelonius Monk puts me in the mood, there's something about the improvisation that aligns with the candidness of street photography. Although I don't shoot listening to music to stay aware and present while in the streets.”
